Due to the NBA Playoffs, AEW Dynamite will be airing tomorrow at 6 p.m. ET. Even though this is not the normal night for Dynamite, AEW could see some huge ratings. They’ll have the benefits of the NBA Playoff game as a lead-in and no wrestling competition. With only 3 episodes of Dynamite left before All Out, we should see some angles and promos that reveal more of the card. Let’s take a look at the AEW Dynamite preview for August 22nd.
Orange Cassidy’s First Ever In-ring Interview

This week’s Dynamite will feature Orange Cassidy’s first ever in-ring interview. Cassidy is not a man of many words, but I’m sure he’ll have some comments about his upset victory over Chris Jericho. I’m expecting that Jericho will interrupt this segment and come up with some excuse as to why Cassidy beat him last week. This could lead to Cassidy and Jericho facing each other for the 3rd time. Based on how their match went last week, I’m not clamoring to see these two in a match again. Hopefully, if there is going to be a rubber match, it will be some kind of stipulation match that will give these guys more to work with.
Darby Allin in Action

After failing to win the AEW Championship a few weeks ago, Darby Allin will be back in action. With no opponent named, I assume he’ll be facing an enhancement talent. This will probably be a quick squash that will allow time for Darby to call out Team Taz.
Lucha Brothers & The Butcher & The Blade vs. Jurassic Express & Natural Nightmares

The Lucha Brothers will be teaming up with The Butcher and The Blade again. This time they’ll be facing the Jurassic Express and the Natural Nightmares. There’s not really a story going to this match. With Pentagon, Fenix, Butcher, and Blade tagging regularly I expect they’ll get the win here.
FTR vs. Private Party

Last week FTR finally showed their true colors when they attacked the Rock N’ Roll Express. This week they’ll face off against Private Party. FTR is currently the number one ranked team and can’t afford a loss this close to All Out. We’ve seen Private Party pull off upsets before. If they can get the upset win here, they’ll be skyrocketed up the rankings and possibly be the next challengers for the tag titles.
The Elite vs. Dark Order

The war between The Elite and Dark Order continues this week as Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks will compete against John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and Alan Angels. The last time these two factions faced off, Dark Order was on the winning end. The Elite will be looking for revenge here. Also, The Bucks will be looking for a victory to move up in the tag rankings. With these six super-talented individuals all in the ring, I have a feeling this will be the match of the night. I’m expecting The Elite to get the win here and then possibly be confronted by FTR.
Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament Final
Nightmare Sisters vs. Diamante & Ivelisse

The Deadly Draw tournament concludes tomorrow night. The Nightmare Sisters have continued to put aside their differences to succeed in tag action. During the tournament, we’ve seen Brandi display some heel tendencies. She’s become self-absorbed and obsessed with the fact that she is the first woman in AEW to have an action figure. I believe Brandi’s love for her action figures will be the thing that costs her and Allie the match. This whole time, Dustin has been worried about Allie but he needs to keep his eyes on his sister-in-law. I’m a big fan of Ivelisse and I hope a win here will secure her an AEW contract.
TNT Championship Match
Cody vs. Mr. Brodie Lee

Cody’s next challenger for the TNT Championship will be the Exalted One of the Dark Order, Mr. Brodie Lee. Brodie has been very impressive since making his debut in AEW. He’s had good matches, good promos, and helped turn the Dark Order around. This is a matchup that I have a hard time seeing either man lose.
With All Out being so close I don’t think it makes much sense to Cody to drop the belt now. If he’s going to lose the title then it would make more sense to lose it at All Out. Brodie Lee has only lost one singles match which was against Jon Moxley. He’s been protected in his booking and has consistently been in the top 5. If Brodie fails here, where does he go? He’s already failed to win the AEW Championship. If I’m Tony Khan I’m not beating Brodie in a second championship match. I think the best would be to do what they should have done last week. They need to go to a time limit draw and set up a rematch for All Out.
