2014 has been the year of Brock Lesnar. He’s defeated Big Show, Undertaker, and John Cena in dominate performances. With Brock Lesnar retaining at Night of Champions and his limited appearances for the rest of the year it’s clear that he will be the champion for a while. Personally I think he won’t lose the title until Wrestlemania 31. So who’s next to challenge Lesnar? There are five guys who can have a great match with Brock Lesnar and pose a threat to his WWE Championship reign.
1. Randy Orton

Randy Orton wants to be the “face of the company”. There are two people who are road blocks in Orton’s quest. First, there’s Brock Lesnar. For Orton to be “face of the company” he needs to win the WWE championship from Lesnar. The second roadblock is Seth Rollins. Currently with Orton having to “babysit” Mr. Money In The Bank, he doesn’t have time to focus on Lesnar. Which is why I see Orton turning his back on Seth Rollins and The Authority so he can set his sights on Brock Lesnar. The varying styles and both men’s physicality makes this match a must see main event.
2. Cesaro

Paul Heyman dropped Cesaro as a client to focus all his efforts on managing Brock Lesnar. Cesaro needs to face Brock Lesnar to prove that he is the better “Paul Heyman Guy”. This match would be easy to build and would make sense. We’ve seen Cesaro’s strength displayed numerous times. It would be a thing of beauty to see Brock Lesnar in the Cesaro Swing.
3. Sheamus

Sheamus loves to fight. Brock Lesnar loves to fight. This match would be an intense brawl. Sheamus has the strength and experience to face off against Brock Lesnar. Sheamus has had big matches with the likes of John Cena and Triple-H. With the Luck of the Irish and the right build Sheamus could knock off Brock Lesnar.
4. Dean Ambrose

The Lunatic Fringe fears no one. With Ambrose’s popularity continuing to rise it would be hard to avoid a showdown between the two. Brock Lesnar has not faced an opponent with a unique and frantic style which could take Brock Lesnar off his game.
5. Roman Reigns

Before Reigns’ injury he was being pushed as the number two guy and possibly being groomed to become the next “face of the company”. When Reigns returns to action he will easily pick up where he left off. With Reigns’ strong performance in last year’s Royal Rumble I see Reigns winning this year’s Rumble and going on to Wrestlemania 31 to challenge Brock Lesnar. We could be one Superman Punch away from the next WWE Champion.
Would love to see Orton vs. Lesnar.
I agree with Mark I truly believe that match would be epic in portion
