1 Called Manders followed up on his 16 Carat Gold tournament triumph by becoming the first American wrestler since Timothy Thatcher to hold the WXW World Championship, after defeating Elijah Blum to capture the vacant title.

The former Black and Brave trainee gained significant revenge over Blum, who had beaten him earlier in the year at “Dead End”, whilst displaying an interesting change in his demeanour by not stopping the referee’s 10 count like he had in the past, after a brutal lariat had left his opponent convulsing on the mat.

There was also gold for Hektor Invictus, who was able to end Joseph Fenech Jr’s short reign with the wXw Shotgun title after attempted interference from Fenech’s stablemate Anil Marik backfired, playing a part in Joseph’s loss.

Whilst Invictus headed off to celebrate, “High Performer LTD” continued to fracture as Manager Robin Christopher Fohrwerk set Marik to attack the former champion. Fenech held him off on the night but it was clear that he would be another departure from the stable which has also removed Icarus and Alison over recent months.

A celebration was not in the cards for Project Gojirah, as the team of Robert Dreissker and Marc Empire were swiftly despatched by Tag Team Title holders Big Bucks, after the Champions demanded that Empire and Dreissker use their number one contendership immediately after they had survived a grueling encounter with Young Blood just minutes beforehand.

Robert Dreissker came into both bouts with a knee issue, wearing a heavy knee brace whilst competing that was also targeted in both matches. The brace would be ripped off during the Tag Team Title match and weaponised to play into the finish.

The Number 1 Contenders match was the last tag team stop for Young Blood, with Oskar Leube and Yuto Nakashima announcing that their excursion has reached its end and they will be returning to Japan in the near future.

wXw released a Statement on 08/04 explaining a change in ownership for the organisation brought upon by a legal dispute which was hampering their current registration.

“Effective May 1, 2025, the German Wrestling Association (Deutscher Wrestlingverband eV) will take over the event operations of wXw Europe GmbH. All previously announced wXw events will be organized by this non-profit organization. Tickets already purchased remain valid.

This decision was made following a long-running legal dispute with the German Pension Insurance (Deutsche Rentenversicherung). Their legal assessment makes it virtually impossible to organize pro wrestling events in Germany under any legal form other than a non-profit, registered association. Even this legal form still imposes numerous restrictions, which we believe no organizer currently meets. We will pursue legal action to achieve a final clarification and create legal certainty for organizers and wrestlers.

The wXw team remains unchanged. wXw Europe GmbH remains the brand owner. It will continue to serve the association as a competent service provider in the event sector.

The promotion has made a number of talent announcements over the last few weeks; Matthew Justice will be part of “Extreme Wrestling Party” in Oberhausen on September 26th, Michael Oku and Zozoya have been added to the “Broken Rules” event on July 19th in Frankfurt. Zozoya is also booked for “Drive of Champions” in Oberhausen on June 14th, alongside Leon Slater and 1 Called Manders.

Safire Reed has been added to the Femme Fatales lineup in the Autumn whilst a ECW Rules Match will take place on May 23rd in Hamburg between Avalanche’s Robert Dreissher and Masato Tanaka.

Miya Yamashita will make her debut in Italy for SAJ Wrestling on their “Hunter’s Net” show on May 24th in Milan. Masato Tanaka, Session Moth Martina, Connor Mills and Jack Morris will also appear for Italy’s leading promotion.

Danish Promotion, Bodyslam have announced an Autumn tour that will take place in Aarhus on September 20th, Grere on October 10th, Fredericksvaerk on October 24th and Roskilde on November 22nd.

Millie McKenzie will start with Romanian Pro Wrestling on May 17th, for “Uphill Battle” in Feleacu. She is expected to make future dates with the promotion thereafter. Ricky Marvin and Leon St. Giovanni are also booked for the show.

Kira Chimera will return to Fury All Womens Pro Wrestling in Stuttgart on May 24th. The “Breaking Barriers” show will also feature LA Taylor vs Nicky Foxley.

Spanish promotion Riot are running Robbie X vs TJ Charles for their “Mayday” show at Casinet d’ Hosta Francs on May 3rd.

Cedric Alexander will be appearing for APC Catch on May 24th for their “Rise to Glory” show in Nanterre, France.

Mercedes Mone will make her first appearance for the promotion at the Doncaster Dome on April 20th. The Undisputed British Women’s Champion will defend against Kanji, who defeated Deonna Purazzo at the recent Wolverhampton show.

“High Stakes” takes place on Easter Sunday in the UK, as RevPro continue in their attempt to convert the Doncaster market to one of their own, having previously been dominated by the now ceased 1PW during various periods over the last two decades. Donavan Dijak is another former WWE name on the bill.

Also added to the card is a Women’s Revolution Gauntlet and Undisputed Champion Michael Oku facing Leon Slater. Oku is wrestling in Las Vegas for Progress on the 17th before flying back for the show.

Rev Pro have also announced their line up for the “Live in London” show on April 6th at the 229. It will feature Jordon Breaks vs Zozaya, Ricky Knight Jr. vs Cameron Khai, CPF facing off with Leon Slater and the RevPro Tag Team Champions the Young Guns and Kanji taking on Dani Luna ahead of her match with Mercedes Mone in 3 weeks time.

Chris Ridgeway vs Seiki Yoshioka will take place at the promotion’s April 13th show at the 1865 in Southampton.

The promotion will return to Barcelona on May 17th with Leon Slater, Luke Jacobs, Ethan Allan and Jay Joshua all announced to compete. Tickets are also now on sale for the “Revolution Rumble” event in York Hall on June 22nd, with Zozaya announced for the signature bout.

Progress Wrestling

Progress Chapter 179 will represent the UK during Wrestlemania Week, with the Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort hosting the promotion on April 17th.

Topping the card will be Michael Oku vs Luke Jacobs, as their RevPro rivalry is adopted by Progress to set up a battle for Jacobs’ Progress Men’s World Championship.

Axel Tischer will defend the Progress Atlas Championship in Las Vegas whilst wXw Unified World Champion, 1 Called Manders, faces Tate Mayfairs and Marcus Mathers in a three way. Cara Noir, who will only wrestle for Progress whilst in Nevada, will take on Minoru Suzuki.

Nina Samuels is forced into defending the Progress Women’s World Title without the odds being in her favor, as she takes on Rhio and Vert Vixen, and Lykos Gym will face the team of Man Like DeReiss and Leon Slater in a tag team bout. Paul Walter Hauser also makes his Progress debut in a scramble for Simon Miller’s Proteus Title to finish up the card.

The show will stream live on Triller+ and on Progress On Demand.

Charlie Sterling, Kid Lykos and Will Kroos are further additions to the Super Strong Style 16 lineup for May Bank Holiday weekend in Camden, London.

Anita Vaughan bested Skye Smithson in just over 4 minutes at Pro Wrestling Eve’s Wrestle (Wo)Mania show on 4/4 to become the new EVE International Champion.

The show was main evented by Emersyn Jayne and Rayne Leverkusen defeating Millie McKenzie and Safire Reed in an all action tag team street fight.

The company’s next outing will be on 02/05, back at The Big Penny in Walthamstow.

OTT have announced that their flagship “Scrappermania” show, due to be held May 3rd at Dublin’s National Stadium, has been postponed. Founder and Owner Joe Cabray took to social media via a video to explain the decision, citing a number of plans which have fallen through in recent weeks, leading to the promotion believing they could not deliver the expected level of show that is expected of the Scrappermania name. All ticket holders are being offered refunds.

A show at the Ambassador Theatre in the city has been announced for the same date with a second show in Belfast, Northern Ireland the night after.

ICW No Holds Barred is teaming with BGW for a weekend of shows in Perth in September. Tim Strange and the Chains have already been announced for the shows at the Ice Factory from the 5th to the 7th September.

Fight Factory will run “Grapple Games” in Dublin on May 16th, with Jack Morris returning to the promotion. Morris has a string of dates scheduled across Europe this summer in between NOAH tours.

ICW’s family friendly wing “Blockbuster Pro Wrestling” are bringing in Donavan Dijak for their Paisley Lagoon Centre show on May 23rd.

Alexxis Falcon will return to the NGW ring for the first time in over a year at the promotion’s 17th Anniversary event in Hull on May 10th.
