They Got Next: A New Era Has Begun in Women’s Wrestling
Not only was the Triple Threat match a highlight of WrestleMania it also sparked a new revolution. Earlier in the night, Hall of Famer Lita announced that the Diva’s Championship would be retired and it would be replaced with the first ever WWE Women’s Championship. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch put together an instant classic in the ring when they battled to become the new champion.
Last night not only marked the first time Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and the New WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte competed at WrestleMania, it was also the start of a new era in WWE’s newly branded women’s division. From Becky delivering her own version of suplex city to Charlotte’s amazing moon-salt outside of the ring the ladies certainly didn’t disappoint.
So where do they go from here? With Charlotte as champion still, the time is right for Bayley to make her debut on the main roster. After her amazing match at NXT Takeover Dallas in my opinion, the former NXT women’s champion has done all she can do at that level. Bringing up the woman who I feel has a chance to be the “John Cena” of her generation to start a feud with Charlotte would be the way to go for me.
If Bayley does make an appearance on Monday Night Raw tonight, feuding with Charlotte would free up Sasha and Becky to feud with the likes of Paige, Emma, Naomi, or even Natalya. This roster is loaded with amazing talent, and dare I say has a chance to surpass anything we’ve ever seen from the women in WWE. Let’s take a look at the other women I expect to help “The Four Horsewomen” lead the next generation of women into the future.

Without question, Emma is one of the most underutilized women’s wrestler’s in WWE for the past couple of years now. In my mind, she’s just as fundamentally sound of a wrestler as the women I’ve already mentioned. I love her NXT run as a heel, and hopefully, if she’s allowed to stay on the main roster she will get a chance to run with the ball in a huge program with one or all four members of the Horsewomen.
She’s outspoken, sexy, and true to her heart. There’s nothing this 2-Time Women’s Champion can’t do in the ring. Although Paige has had tons of success over the past couple of years inside the ring, I still feel like she hasn’t even scratched the surface of her full potential…..and that should scare everyone in the women’s division.
