WWE Hell In A Cell 2015 Predictions

by Oct 23, 20150 comments

People usually get excited for October because it means free candy. As wrestling fans, we get excited for October because it means Hell In A Cell. I’m usually against the idea of let’s have Hell In A Cell Matches just because it’s the name of the event. This year WWE has done a great job of booking the two Cell matches with feuds that need one last big match. In past years, we’ve seen feuds started in the Cell or feuds that didn’t need the Cell. I’m not sure whether creative planned ahead or Hell In A Cell just luckily fell at the right time for these feuds. Either way both matches should be great. Here are my predictions for Hell In A Cell 2015.

Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, & Neville vs. King Barrett, Sheamus, & Rusev

Let me start off by saying I love the combination of Barrett, Sheamus, and Rusev. It just looks like they should be together. I’m very intrigued at the possibilities of making them a long term stable. The trio had a dominant performance against the same team they’re facing Sunday. Add Lana to the mix and this has the potential to be a powerful heat drawing anti-American group. Even though both teams were thrown together, the team of Ziggler, Cesaro, and Neville doesn’t really mesh well. I would like to see Barrett, Sheamus, and Rusev defeat this team again, but WWE loves 50-50 booking which means Ziggler’s team will be taking the win and there will probably be another rematch on Raw or Smackdown next week.

John Cena’s United States Open Challenge

John Cena’s US Open Challenge has been consistently one of the best parts of Raw this year. Honestly, I think this match will steal the show. There are so many potential wrestlers that could be revealed as Cena’s mystery opponent. With Cena taking time off after this event, whoever he faces will more than likely defeat him. I really want Daniel Bryan to return to answer the challenge, but I don’t want to get my hopes up. Tyler Breeze could be a good option since he just made his main roster debut. Beating Cena for the US title would catapult him up the card. I love Breeze but, I have a hard time seeing him beat Cena right now. Another option I really like is Dean Ambrose. Ambrose was originally scheduled to be in a Pre-Show match teaming with Randy Orton to take on Luke Harper and Braun Strowman. That match was scrapped due to Orton having an injury and Harper having a family issue. Ambrose has been one of the rumored names to receive a push during Cena’s absence. What better way to get him ready to replace Cena by beating Cena. This could be a passing of the guard and a great way to build Ambrose going into Wrestlemania season.

WWE Tag Team Championship New Day vs. Dudley Boyz

I can’t say enough how much I love the New Day. I giggle like a little school girl every time they start clapping, prancing, and gyrating their way down to the ring. It’s obvious that Vince and the writers have given New Day more creative liberties than some of the other talent. They are single handedly bringing attention to the tag division which often gets lost in the shuffle. It’s great that WWE was able to bring back a veteran team like the Dudley Boyz to challenge New Day and bring more legitimacy to the tag division. It looks like Xavier Woods will be missing from ringside. He was super powerbombed through a table on Raw and missed Smackdown. This levels the playing field for the Dudleys. Personally I think Big E and Kofi should retain the tag titles, but I’m not sure what they do with the Dudleys if they lose. It’s hard to imagine the Dudleys going to the back of the line and it doesn’t make sense for them to keep losing and getting title matches. Also the announce team has been harping on the fact the Dudleys are trying to win their 10th tag titles. I see the Dudley Boyz winning which will set up a rematch between the two teams at Survivor Series. I also see the Dudleys holding the titles through TLC where I’m sure we’ll see a multi-team TLC match.

WWE Championship (If Demon Kane loses Corporate Kane is fired from Director of Operations) Seth Rollins vs. Demon Kane

I’m not a big fan of Kane being in a WWE title match in the year 2015. Don’t see this as me hating on Kane. I think Kane is a great worker and always delivers no matter what role he is in. My problem is WWE conditioned us that no matter how evil or crazy Kane is, he is not a serious contender for the WWE title. Watching Kane’s split personality issues has been entertaining. I wish they would have done the split personality storyline with Stardust/Cody Rhodes. Despite the stipulation of this match, I find it very hard to see Kane winning the championship. If Kane somehow wins Sheamus will cash in.

Hell In A Cell Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

The Wyatt/Reigns feud has had it’s highlights, but I don’t think it has been beneficial for either man. I think Reigns and Wyatt are going to do everything in their power to make this match of the night. Roman hasn’t won a singles match on a pay per view since Extreme Rules in April. If they’re still planning on pushing him to be the new top guy he has to win here. Even though Wyatt could benefit from winning here, I think it will be easier for him to bounce back from losing especially since the Wyatt Family is back together and bigger than ever.

WWE Diva’s Championship Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella

Charlotte and Nikki had a solid match at Night of Champions. I expect a similar performance on Sunday. The problem with this feud and the whole Diva’s revolution is they are more concerned about their teams instead of the Diva’s Championship. The faster all these teams break up the better the Diva’s Revolution will become. WWE needs to realize that not every Diva needs to be on every show. There’s 7 hours of programming a week that can use to highlight all these women. They need to take an approach similar to NXT. You don’t see the same Divas over and over again in the same situations. I know NXT is only an hour, but they have about the same amount women as the main roster. You can’t get everyone over at the same time. I don’t think Nikki will be regaining her title on Sunday. Hopefully after this match the focus can be shifted on all these women wanting to be the champion.

Intercontinental Championship Kevin Owens vs. Ryback

The keyboard warriors of the IWC moaned and groaned after Kevin Owens lost to John Cena twice. They thought Kevin Owens was getting buried. Well, they were wrong. After the losses to Cena, WWE continued pushing Owens. It’s been great seeing that since he’s won the Intercontinental title he hasn’t been pinned in non-title matches. They’ve used matches with Sin Cara, Kalisto, and Mark Henry to highlight what Owens can do and make him look like a strong champion. I love Ryback, but I see Owens having a long run with the belt. Ryback has been a victim of bad booking and injuries. Hopefully, he can rebound after this match.

Hell In A Cell Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

This will be the final chapter in the storied rivalry between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. I actually fear for Undertaker’s health in this match. The Cell is unforgiving and so is Lesnar. I think the right booking decision here is to have Lesnar win. There is more money to be made with Lesnar than there is with Taker. Also, I’m pretty sure we’ll being seeing Lesnar a few more times before Wrestlemania. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lesnar gets another shot at the WWE title at Survivor Series.
